Overview
The UCLA National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) Project is committed to supporting educators pursuing the rigorous National Board Certification Process. National Board Certification is a nation-wide certification, recognizing the work of accomplished teachers and their contributions to student achievement. The UCLA NBPTS Project has been supporting National Board candidates for twelve years, offering both a one and two year certification program. In addition, this year the UCLA NBPTS Project became one of five Professional Teaching Development Centers (PTDC) in California. Through grant funding provided by the Stuart Foundation, the PTDC at UCLA Center X offers over $20,000 in scholarships to full board, Take One!® and Advanced candidates along with year-long school site based support networks with a NBPTS trained Candidate Support Provider. Through these various opportunities, the UCLA NBPTS Project brings accomplished teaching to the forefront by supporting educators to achieve the highest level of teaching excellence.
